Breaking the Stereotypes: Embracing Opportunities Beyond Traditional Roles in the Military and Beyond

The combined percentage of women, family members of the military, and LGBT members in the U.S. military is estimated to be around 23.6%.

Given this substantial representation, it begs the question: Why are so many job postings within the military and related sectors still predominantly focused on traditionally male roles or those that require a rigid 9-5 schedule? It's well-documented that industries like the beauty sector are poised for significant growth, with projections indicating a 20-30% increase shortly. Despite this promising outlook, there seems to be a noticeable gap in promoting job opportunities or training programs in this direction.

Fun Fact: Did you know that getting your brows tattoo costs $500 (1 hour service),

The beauty industry, in particular, offers unique advantages that are often overlooked. It provides the flexibility of part-time work with the potential for full-time pay, an attractive proposition for many, including those looking to balance family responsibilities or other commitments. Yet, the dialogue around career opportunities for veterans, transitioning military personnel, and their families remains heavily skewed towards male-dominated fields.

Take a look at the recent job postings highlighted in military career support platforms. The listings include roles like Customer Service Reps, Medical Value Access Liaisons, Biostatistics Associate Directors, and various technical positions – all essential, but predominantly structured around traditional working hours and environments. This emphasis inadvertently sidelines the diverse skill sets and career aspirations of a significant portion of the military community, particularly women and LGBT members.

This is where we step in. The Veterans Beauty Professionals Organization is here to change that! If you've ever been interested in beauty or tattooing, we will teach you to transition out of the military. Veterans and their family members can learn that beauty can make money too! And guess what, for all you LGBTQ men and women of all colors and shapes, you belong with us! Here, there is no man or woman. It's just US, we the people. So come and join and say HI.

It's high time we broaden our perspective on what constitutes viable career paths for those transitioning from military service. The beauty industry, with its expansive growth and flexible work options, presents an untapped potential. By fostering greater awareness and training opportunities in such sectors, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all service members and their families.

We need to challenge the status quo and advocate for a broader spectrum of job opportunities that align with the evolving needs and aspirations of our diverse military community. Let's start talking about the potential within the beauty industry and similar sectors that offer flexible, rewarding careers. It's not just about filling job vacancies; it's about empowering individuals to pursue careers that truly resonate with their skills, interests, and life goals.

In conclusion, the combined representation of women and LGBT members in the military highlights the need for a more inclusive approach to job postings and career training. The beauty industry stands out as a promising field that deserves more attention and support. Let's shift the narrative and embrace a wider range of opportunities for our veterans and their families, ensuring that everyone has the chance to thrive in their post-military careers. Join the Veterans Beauty Professionals Organization and let's transform the future together!
